This picture was taken about 1991, in my old Radio Astronomy Group office. My new office is about equally well organized, as is typical for me. Originally, it also had "Hawaii" written under the wave, but "Hawaii" disappeared altogether the first time I washed the shirt; it was, as it turns out, only "glued on", as if somebody used the same technique used for writing on a cake with frosting!
I spent 11 years in the radio astronomy group, mostly as a data analyst, programmer, system manager, and part time radio astronomer. I specialized in planetary work, but also did some observing on the Milky Way with the facilities of the Deep Space Network.
